Los Alamos Seismic Network
|
The Los Alamos Seismic Network (LASN) The Los Alamos Seismograph Network is located in North-Central New Mexico, about 100 km north of Albuquerque. This network has been operated by Los Alamos National Laboratory since September, 1973. For the first 10-15 years (to 1985), stations were located throughout Northern New Mexico. It now has a more limited geographic extent, but is continually being upgraded and expanded. The stations extend over an area with dimensions of about 20 Km (N-S) by 15 Km (E-W), approximately centered on 35 deg 50 min North, and 106 deg 20 min West.

The Albuquerque Seismological Laboratory is
the U.S. Geological Survey's instrument test and development center, and currently is
operating a broad-band shallow borehole triaxial seismometer package as station ANMO.
The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Geophysics
at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology
("New Mexico Tech") in Socorro operates networks of short-period seismographs in
the Socorro area and in south-east New Mexico, near the DOE-WIPP site. Their earthquake listing page can be seen Here
