Responsibilities include developing moment equations for nonlocal transient unsaturated flow with random boundary conditions and a random source term, solving these equations numerically using the finite element method, and comparing the corresponding Monte Carlo simulations.

  • Performed flow and transport simulation for defining effective hydraulic conductivity and transport properties for unsaturated zone at Hanford site, Washington. Click here to view the report.

  • Developed and implemented an algorithm for hydrological inverse problem using the maximum likelihood method, and compared against the iterative stochastic inverse approach.

  • Conducted uncertainty analysis on the analytical solution for one-dimensional unsaturated flow in heterogeneous soils with a variable infiltration rate.

  • Investigated the behavior of the variable Cadmium concentration in groundwater system in Pinal Creek, Arizona.

  • Simulated the evolution of the chloride plume at Borden landfill, Borden, Ontario, using a modified method of characteristics and a finite element model.

  • Managed a cluster of five UNIX IBM RS/6000 workstations and network.
